DECK REPAIR

Decks are weight-bearing structures that must be safe, secure and up to code. We can evaluate, repair and enhance your older deck and make it the center of attention for your summer season.

WE HAVE A FIVE-STEP DECK REPAIR PROCESS:

1

FIRST STEP

We’ll provide an engineering assessment of your deck. We evaluate it’s substructure, looking at its foundation footers, the anchor posts, wall ledger, rim joist and hanger joist.

  • Then we repair or replace any of the key structural components needed.

2

SECOND STEP

Next, we assess the rail posts, balusters, top rail and cap rails.

  • If needed, we’ll repair or replace them.

3

THIRD STEP

If your desk has steps, we’ll check the stringer, risers and soundness of the treads.

  • We’ll suggest adding safety non-slip reflective tread strips for all of the steps (if lighting is not an option).
  • We’ll also make sure the banister is safe, secure and splinter-free!

4

FOURTH STEP

Then we’ll check the integrity of the deck surface itself. Has the sun or rain compromised the decking? Were the deck planks just nailed in or properly screwed down? Is the spacing between the planks consistent and between 1?8 and 1?4 of an inch?

  • If any of the individual deck boards appear compromised, we will replace them and make sure they are installed correctly.
  • We’ll suggest the decking be treated with, or have, a non-slip surface added.

5

FINAL STEP

Finally, we’ll stain or paint the deck so the entire structure matches and looks finished and new.

We can also suggest some simple modifications to make your deck better match your lifestyle. Have you considered an outdoor kitchen, custom seating, storage, flower boxes, fire pits and beautiful lighting options?

WE'LL MAKE THAT OLD DECK BETTER THAN NEW!
